Who We Are

New Life Pentecostal Way of Truth is an Apostolic Pentecostal body of believers preaching Holiness in the city of Atlanta. We welcome you to worship with us, and experience the life changing power of the blood of Jesus Christ!

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative written Word of God (II Timothy 3:16; Ephesians 3:5; II Peter 3:2).

We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (In Creation), as the Son (In Redemption), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling spirit, operating in the church today).

We believe that the name of Jesus is the only saving name (Acts 4:12). Jesus was God manifest in the flesh (1 Timothy 3:16).

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38).

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues (Isaiah 28:11; Acts 2:4, 2:38, 10:46, 19:6)..

We believe that the word of God must be proclaimed throughout all the world, according to God's commandment (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Romans 10:18).

We believe our blessed hope lie in Christ Jesus our Lord who has given us the victory over death and hell. Therefore standing firm on His promise, we anticipate the second coming of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17).

We believe in the Apostolic doctrine as was given to the twelve Apostles that were chosen and instructed by Jesus. We believe in the pentecostal experience as described on the day of Pentecost in the book of Acts when God poured out His spirit on those in the upper room. We believe in the full plan of salvation according to Acts 2:38 which is repentance, baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance. We endeavor to keep the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ.

What To Expect

We welcome you to join us as we worship the Lord our God according to His word. Here are some of the things you can expect to witness in our service:
We pray together out loud

[Acts 4:24] “they lifted up their voice to God with one accord…”

We lift our hands in praise

[Psalm 134:2] “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.”

We sing with all our hearts

[Psalm 98:4] “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”

We play musical instruments

[II Samuel 6:5] “…and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments…”

We clap and shout unto God

[Psalm 47:1] “…O clap your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.”

We dance in the spirit

[Psalm 150:4] “…Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.”

We testify publicly

[Psalm 22:22] “I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.”

We anoint with oil for divine healing

[James 5:14] “Is there any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

Our Pastor & Co-Pastor

In 1994 Bishop Johnny L. Jones moved his family from Oakland, CA back to his hometown of Atlanta, GA to start a ministry. With nothing but faith and the instruction of his late Pastor Bishop Calvin Davis Sr., he and his wife began preaching the gospel. The church was established in his mothers living room on Well Circle in Stone Mountain, GA. That Summer, the Jones family moved the church to 546 Ashby St. in Atlanta. Though they struggled financially, the ministry continued to grow, as Bishop and Evangelist Jones remained faithful.

In 1996 the family moved to 599 Chappel Rd. a crime ridden area in Northwest Atlanta, minutes from the notorious “Bluff” area. Despite humble beginnings, New Life established an active ministry in the community. Including, a weekly food pantry, hosting block parties and three day revivals to win the lost. After several years at Chappel Rd, on July 27, 2000, New Life relocated to the current building at 991 Hollywood Rd. near the Grove Park and Riverside communities. New Life continues to be a light in the neighborhood offering many programs to aid the less fortunate, including feeding the homeless and offering free youth programs during the summer. God has continued to bless with revival at New Life with many souls being baptized in the precious name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost. Bishop and Evangelist Jones continue to labor in the Lord to bring salvation to the souls of Atlanta.

Youth Pastors

Hasadiah & Chonie Jones

In 2009 Hasadiah & Chonie Jones began their work with the youth at New Life, leading the Friday night youth service, as well as establishing the Youth outreach program H.Y.P.E. (now SALT), and directing the summer enrichment program.

They enjoy working with the young people through teaching, counseling and outreach. In 2022 after years of faithfully working with the youth in various capacities, Hasadiah and Chonie were promoted to the Pastoral team as Youth Pastors. We thank God for their service.

SALT Youth meets every Friday night at 8 PM for their Friday Night L.I.T. service. They enjoy a fun and engaging service that teaches and inspires them to build a closer relationship with the Lord. The Friday service has something for all ages to enjoy, from our young children to teenagers and young adults.
